How much does an Amalfi Coast wedding photographer cost?

Short answer: for a full wedding day on the Amalfi Coast or in Positano, most couples spend somewhere between €3,000 and €12,000 on photography. Our Amalfi Coast wedding photographer packages start at €4,000 with all-day coverage, drone photos, travel and VAT included.

Here’s roughly how the market looks. These are ballpark figures, and every photographer prices a little differently:

Local photographer, shorter coverage: roughly €2,500–4,000
Experienced destination wedding photographer, full day: around €4,000–8,000
Two-photographer teams and high-end studios (often with drone, film or albums): from about €7,500 up to €15,000+

What changes the price

Hours of coverage. Getting ready to first dance is a long day, and many quotes only cover 8 hours.
One or two photographers. Amalfi Coast days are spread out: getting ready in a hotel in Positano, the ceremony in Ravello or Amalfi, dinner on a cliffside terrace. A second photographer makes sure nothing gets missed.
Travel and accommodation. Always ask if it’s included. With us it is.
Extras like drone, 35mm film, photobooks, a Positano sunrise session or a second day of coverage.

Our tip: compare the total cost, not the headline number. A €3,500 quote plus flights, hotel, a second shooter and VAT can easily end up higher than an all-inclusive package.

A real Amalfi Coast wedding: Villa Vettica, Amalfi

How much does a wedding photographer cost on the Amalfi Coast?

Expect roughly €3,000–12,000 for full-day coverage, depending on experience, hours and team size. Our Amalfi Coast and Positano packages are €4,000, €5,000 and €7,500, all with drone photos, travel and VAT included.

Are travel costs included in your Positano packages?

Yes. Travel, accommodation and VAT are included in every package, so there are no surprise flight or hotel fees later.

Do we need a sunrise session in Positano?

If you want the classic view of Positano without crowds, yes. From late spring to early autumn the town is busy all day, so the best time is around 6–7 am. That’s why for the full Amalfi experience I suggest booking a photographer for two days.

Do you photograph elopements and couple sessions on the Amalfi Coast?

How far in advance should we book?

For May to October dates, we’d recommend getting in touch 12–18 months ahead, since the popular weekends go first. A €1,000 deposit secures your date.

Remember – the venue coordinator is not the same as the wedding planner. Hiring a wedding planner is essential for orchestrating a flawless destination wedding along the stunning Amalfi Coast. For a wedding in Amalfi Coast, Italy, ensuring the official part is handled smoothly requires adherence to Italian marriage laws and procedures. Couples must submit a marriage application to the local municipality and provide the necessary documentation, including valid passports, birth certificates, and proof of marital status. Once the application is approved, the ceremony can be held at a designated venue, typically a town hall or approved location, officiated by a registrar.

Timing is key to capturing the beauty of an Amalfi Coast wedding. Opt for a ceremony scheduled during the golden hour, just before sunset, to bask in the warm, ethereal light that enhances the atmosphere and creates magical photo opportunities. The reason why I’m writing about the sunrise session is – the most iconic Amalfi Coast view of Positano City at dusk. But if it’s +20 (Celsius) or more then it will be crowded all day long – the only option is sunrise at 6/7 am (I know – quite early, but 8 am still counts). For the best Amalfi experience, I suggest booking a photographer for 2 days.

When communicating with vendors and venues in Italy, clear communication is essential. Hiring a wedding planner can alleviate this concern, as they’re adept at bridging language gaps and facilitating smooth communication. Forget about this if you have a wedding planner hired 🙂

There are loads of “Pinterest” images taken from all those 5-star hotels where you can get in for a 1000eur fee to take a picture. So let’s keep it real – for a non-car city-on-a-hill view of Positano, it’s better to get closer to the city, like a Vi Cristoforo Colombo path. To manage expectations and ensure a seamless wedding day, consider arranging a scouting trip to the Amalfi Coast beforehand. This allows the couple to personally inspect venues, meet with vendors, and familiarize themselves with the region, facilitating better logistical planning and building rapport with vendors and venue coordinators.

Begin planning your Amalfi Coast destination wedding well in advance to secure top-notch venues, vendors, and accommodations, especially during peak wedding seasons. Booking vendors at least a year in advance is advisable to ensure availability unless opting for an intimate elopement during weekdays.

Some of the car rentals (I don’t know exactly which ones) do not allow the groom to drive. The driver parks the car in an arranged location and then you take photos – I know .. quite stupid, but before you book, please ask for the details of the wedding car rental company.
