Amalfi Coast Wedding Planners: 20 to Know (2027 Guide)

Looking for an Amalfi Coast wedding planner? Here’s the short answer: hire one who lives on the coast, book them right after your venue, and expect a flat fee or roughly 10–15% of your budget. The coast is beautiful and logistically ridiculous: one road, a lot of stairs, boats instead of cars, and a sun that disappears behind the cliffs earlier than you think.

I photograph weddings on the Amalfi Coast, from Villa Vettica to Positano and Sorrento, and after 350-odd weddings I can tell within an hour whether a day has a good planner behind it. Below: when you actually need one, how to choose, and 20 planners to start with, sorted by area, with a short note on the towns around each one.

Do you need a wedding planner on the Amalfi Coast?

For a destination wedding here, almost always yes. The venue’s coordinator looks after the venue: the terrace, the kitchen, the staff. A planner looks after you: vendors, guest transport, the timeline, the paperwork, the rain plan, and the hundred small calls nobody tells you about until two weeks before.

On the Amalfi Coast, those small calls add up fast. Getting 80 guests from Positano to Ravello means vans that fit the road, not a big coach. Getting a bride down to the water in Positano means a lot of stairs in a dress, or a car booked in advance. Boat transfers depend on the sea that day. A good local planner has already solved all of this for someone else’s wedding last month.

If you’re only doing an elopement or a very small wedding at a hotel with its own events team, the hotel coordinator can be enough. For anything with guests flying in, I’d get a planner.

Prices are rough estimates; confirm with each planner, because fees on the coast vary a lot with guest count and how many days the wedding runs.

How to choose an Amalfi Coast wedding planner

Pick someone who lives here. A planner based on the coast knows which roads close in August, which boat captain shows up on time, and which villa doesn’t allow music after 11. That knowledge is most of what you’re paying for.

Ask about your venue. Have they worked there? What time do they suggest for the ceremony? A planner who answers “depends where the shade is on the terrace” is a planner who has been there.

Ask how they plan transport. Vans, boats, parking, stairs. If the answer is vague, keep looking.

Ask for a sample timeline. You’ll learn more from one real day-of schedule than from a mood board. Look for gaps between the ceremony, aperitivo and dinner. A day with no breathing room looks rushed in the photos, and on the coast everything takes longer than it does at home.

Check the language and the time zone. You’ll be planning from the US, Canada, the UK or Australia, so make sure emails and calls work for both of you.

20 Amalfi Coast wedding planners to know

A starting list, sorted by where each planner is based. I’ve linked their Instagram, because ten minutes of scrolling their recent weddings tells you more about their style than any brochure. Send each one your date, venue and guest count, and see who asks the best questions back.

Amalfi, Ravello and the Salerno side

This is the eastern half of the coast, from Amalfi town to Salerno. Amalfi has the cathedral steps, the main square and a busy little harbour; Atrani, a five-minute walk away, is smaller and quieter. Up the hill, Ravello sits about 350 meters above the sea, with villa gardens like Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo and the kind of view that makes guests stop talking for a second. Scala is just across the valley and even calmer.

Further east you get Minori and Maiori, with the longest beach on the coast, then Cetara with its fishing boats and Vietri sul Mare, the ceramics town. Salerno is the practical end: a real city with a train station and easier road access, which is why several planners keep their office there. From Naples airport, plan on roughly 1.5–2 hours by car to Amalfi or Ravello, more on a summer Saturday.

1. The Amalfi Experience (Amalfi). Their office is on Amalfi’s main square, and a bilingual team plans weddings from the first idea to the last dance across Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. (@the_amalfi_experience)
Best for: full planning with an office in Amalfi town.

2. Wedding in Ravello – Mario Capuano (Ravello). A long-standing local planner in Ravello. Ceremonies in Ravello and Scala, plus guest rooms and transfers if you want one person to handle it all. (@wedding_in_ravello)
Best for: Ravello and Scala ceremonies with rooms and transfers handled by one person.

3. Amalfi Soirée (Agerola). Monica was born on the coast. Planning, design, florals and stationery are all done in-house. (@amalfisoiree)
Best for: one team for planning, flowers and stationery.

4. Rossella Fronda Weddings (Maiori). Full service, including the legal paperwork, guest accommodation, excursions, transfers and the day-of timeline. Works mostly in Maiori and Positano. (@rossellafrondaweddings)
Best for: full service including the legal paperwork and guest excursions.

5. Weddings Amalfi – Francesca Fiore (Salerno, showroom in Maiori). A local planner who mixes Amalfi Coast style with international trends, from Amalfi to Capri. (@francescafiore_weddings_amalfi)
Best for: coast-to-Capri weddings with a showroom in Maiori you can visit.

6. Italian Wedding Designer (Salerno). Planning weddings for couples from abroad on the Amalfi and Sorrento coasts since 2003, and taking a limited number each year. (@amalfi_wedding_planner)
Best for: couples who want a planner who takes only a few weddings a year.

7. Wedding Amalfi – Alessandra Petillo (Salerno). Planning since 1999, from Vietri down to the Cilento, including flowers, music and boat or yacht transfers. (@wedding_amalfi)
Best for: the Salerno side and the Cilento, with boat transfers sorted.

8. Alma Guerrini (Amalfi Coast and Cilento). A wedding planner and event designer who also works as a celebrant, handy if you want a symbolic ceremony led by someone who knows your whole plan. (@almaguerrini_weddingplanner)
Best for: symbolic ceremonies, since she can plan and officiate.

9. Krea Luxury Events – Roberta Ruocco (Amalfi Coast and beyond). Roberta plans tailored weddings and events on the Amalfi Coast and elsewhere in Italy. (@roberta_ruocco_events)
Best for: couples planning more than one event, on the coast or elsewhere in Italy.

Positano and the Sorrento peninsula

Positano is the postcard: houses stacked down the cliff to Spiaggia Grande, one road along the top and a lot of stairs in between. West of it, Praiano is smaller and gets the evening sun, and Furore has its tiny fjord under the bridge. Venues here are mostly hotel terraces and private villas, and the planner’s real job is getting people up and down.

Over the hills is the Sorrento peninsula: Sorrento, Sant’Agnello, Piano di Sorrento, Meta, Vico Equense and Massa Lubrense. It’s bigger, flatter and easier, with wider roads, more hotels for guests, ferries to Capri and Positano, and about an hour by car from Naples airport. Plenty of couples put guests up in Sorrento and marry on the Amalfi side, or the other way around, which is why most planners here work both coasts.

10. Emma Events (Vico Equense). Works only on the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts, with more than ten years of weddings in Positano and along the coast. (@emmaevents)
Best for: Positano and Sorrento only, nothing else.

11. The Pearl of Positano – Mirna Kafrouni (Piano di Sorrento). A luxury planner for Positano and the coast who speaks Arabic, French, English and Italian. (@thepearlof.positano)
Best for: multilingual families (Arabic, French, English, Italian).

12. Sophisticated Weddings – Victoria Morris (Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast). Victoria is a native speaker of both English and Italian, with 12+ years of bespoke weddings in Sorrento, Positano and Ravello. (@sophisticated_weddings_italy)
Best for: a bilingual planner who is also your contact on the day.

13. WedPlace – Margarita Khrapach (Sorrento). 14+ years on the Amalfi Coast; calm, structured planning, and she leads on site through the whole wedding week. (@wedplace.it)
Best for: a whole wedding week with the planner on site throughout.

14. Happy Brides – Simona Guida (Sorrento). Bespoke weddings between Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi, in a style she describes as authentic Italian. (@happy_brides_weddings)
Best for: couples who want an Italian look rather than an imported one.

15. Roberta d’Esposito Event Planner (Piano di Sorrento). 10+ years on the Sorrento peninsula and the Amalfi Coast, with a refined, understated style. She also runs a small event space, La Maison. (@robertadespositoeventplanner)
Best for: understated design, plus her own small event space, La Maison.

16. Flowers and Confetti – Silvia Schiappa (Sorrento). 16+ years with local venues, florals and decor done in-house, and civil, religious or symbolic ceremonies. (@flowers_and_confetti_weddings)
Best for: florals and decor done in-house with the planning.

17. Mr and Mrs Wedding in Italy (Amalfi Coast, Capri and Sorrento). A couple-run team, Ines and Adriano, planning tailor-made weddings on the coast, Capri and Sorrento, and in Puglia. (@mrandmrsweddinginitaly)
Best for: couples also looking at Capri or Puglia.

Capri

Capri is an island, which sounds obvious until you plan guest transport. Everyone arrives by ferry or private boat from Naples, Sorrento or Positano, and luggage goes up separately. There are two towns: Capri, around the Piazzetta, and Anacapri, higher up and quieter, with Monte Solaro above it. Roads are narrow, and cars are limited, so guests move by open-top taxi, minibus or on foot.

Island planners know the ferry timetables, the hotels that take weddings and what to do when the sea is too rough for boats. That last one is the reason to hire someone who lives there.

18. Capri Moments (Anacapri). Fabrizia and Maria Consilia grew up on Capri and have planned 90+ weddings together, plus elopements and multi-day celebrations. (@capri_moments)
Best for: Capri elopements and multi-day celebrations with planners born on the island.

19. Capri Wedding (Capri). 20+ years, a team that lives on the island, and weddings on Capri, the Amalfi and Sorrento coasts and around the Gulf of Naples. (@capriwedding)
Best for: Capri with guests arriving by boat from Sorrento or Positano.

Based in the north

One exception, because a few couples on the coast work with a planner from the north and are glad they did.

20. àmia events – Cecilia Dal Prà (near Venice). The one planner on this list based outside the south. Most of their work is in Lake Como, Lake Garda, Venice and Tuscany, with a quiet-luxury style and often multi-day weddings of about 70 guests. But they do come south: they planned Lauren and Mike’s wedding at Villa Vettica, which I photographed. (@amiawedding)
Best for: quiet-luxury multi-day weddings of about 70 guests.

A photographer’s tips for an Amalfi Coast wedding day

Plan the ceremony around the shade. At Villa Vettica, the terrace is in shade from early afternoon while the dinner spot under the vines gets dappled sun, so we put the ceremony at 5–6 p.m. and did portraits before it.

Book a van for Positano. Stairs in a wedding dress are a workout nobody needs. A black Mercedes van costs around €200 and saves the bride’s legs and the timeline.

Keep the Positano session short. The iconic spots take two hours at most if you have a van waiting. More than that and you’re just tired in nicer places.

Do the boat the day before. A sunset boat session needs at least two hours with driving and drone time. On the wedding day you won’t have two spare hours, and you shouldn’t.

FAQ

How much does a wedding planner cost on the Amalfi Coast?

Roughly 10–15% of the total budget, or a flat fee that depends on guest count and how many days the wedding runs. Most planners send a quote once they know your date, venue and numbers.

When should we book an Amalfi Coast wedding planner?

Right after the venue, ideally 12–18 months ahead. The best planners take a limited number of weddings each season, and May, June and September fill first.

Can we get legally married on the Amalfi Coast?

Yes, but the Italian paperwork takes time, and the translations add cost. Many couples from the US, Canada, the UK and Australia do the legal part at home and have a symbolic ceremony here. Your planner can tell you which route fits your venue.

Do Amalfi Coast wedding planners speak English?

The ones on this list work with international couples, and several are native or bilingual English speakers. Ask who will be your contact on the day, not only during planning.

Do we need a planner for an elopement?

Not always. For two people and a photographer, a hotel concierge or a planner’s smaller elopement package is usually enough. Once guests are flying in, a planner earns their fee in transport alone.

Planning a wedding on the Amalfi Coast?

I’m a destination wedding photographer working in Italy and Spain, and I like being part of the timeline from the start, together with your planner. Tell me about your plans here, or read what couples say in my Google reviews. Still choosing a venue? Start with my guides to Positano wedding venues and Sorrento wedding venues. And here’s how I work as an Amalfi Coast wedding photographer, with the real weddings I’ve shot on the coast.
