Destination Wedding Guides: Italy & Spain
After ten years and 350-odd weddings, I’ve noticed couples ask me the same things on our first call: where to get married, what it really costs, and how the day should flow. These guides are my answers, written for couples from the US, Canada and the UK planning a wedding in Italy or Spain.
Fair warning: I care more about timing and light than about napkin colors. Pick the right place, plan the day around the sun, and most of the rest falls into place.

Planning a destination wedding from abroad
Planning from another country means picking a venue you may only see once and working with vendors who speak another language. Each article here answers a question couples ask me on our first call, with honest opinions and no fluff.
My quickest tips: book popular venues 12 to 18 months ahead, sort out the legal paperwork early (the US Embassy in Italy marriage page is a good start), and plan your day around the light.
See how it all comes together in my real weddings, or get in touch if you’re planning your own.
