Top 20 Wedding Venues Near Barcelona: A Photographer’s Picks (Updated 2026)
Looking for wedding venues near Barcelona? Most of the good ones sit within about an hour of the city and El Prat airport: old stone masias, real castles, villas on the Garraf coast and vineyard estates in the Penedès.
I photograph weddings across Catalonia, and I’ve been back to several of these places more than once. This is the list I’d send a couple planning from the US, Canada or the UK: what each venue is like, how far it is, how many guests it holds, rough prices, and who it suits.

Why choose a wedding venue near Barcelona
Barcelona is one of Europe’s oldest cities and the second-largest in Spain, and its history and culture make a lovely backdrop for a wedding weekend. The Mediterranean climate gives you mild weather most of the year, and within an hour you can have the sea, the mountains or the vineyards, plus some of the best food in Europe. By the way, is it close to the UK? Yes! It’s about a two-hour flight, and there are direct flights from the US and Canada too.
Most of my favorite venues here are private villas. You get the ceremony, the celebration and the accommodation in one place, and only your guests have access. No strangers walking through your photos, no curious onlookers, just your people. For a lot of couples, that privacy is what turns the wedding into a relaxed, intimate weekend, and the villa starts to feel like your own home for a few days.
A quick note on overlap: I’ve written separate guides on wedding venues near Sitges and the Costa Brava wedding venues guide. Here I’ll keep the Sitges and Costa Brava venues short and send you to those guides for the details.

My top 20 wedding venues near Barcelona
I’ve grouped them by area so you can see what sits where. The first 17 are within about an hour of Barcelona. The last three take a bit longer to reach, but I kept them on the list because they’re some of my favorites in Catalonia.
South of Barcelona: vineyards and the Garraf coast
1. Masia Cabellut, Masllorenç

Where rustic charm meets luxury
The venue has spaces for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies and receptions. You can say your vows in the courtyard full of flowers, and the big banquet space works well for a larger reception. The service is excellent and every detail is looked after, so the day runs smoothly for you and your guests. With its location, its history and the way the team looks after people, Masia Cabellut is one of the best places I know for a relaxed, romantic wedding near Barcelona.
I’ve photographed two weddings here, Gabriella & Rikky’s and Rebecca & Gareth’s. The freshly renovated white walls are a great background for portraits, and a few steps away you have the vineyard terrace with that classic Catalan countryside look.

2. Xalet del Nin, Vilanova i la Geltrú

A seaside villa for intimate celebrations
Xalet del Nin is a great choice for couples who want an intimate wedding by the sea. It’s a 1913 villa, refurbished in 2019, with gardens and terraces looking over the Mediterranean, and a lot of flexibility in how you use the spaces. It feels exclusive without being stiff, and every corner, from the gardens to the restored interiors, works for photos. I wrote a full Xalet del Nin wedding venue guide if you want the details.
45 km from Barcelona (about 40 minutes from El Prat Airport)

The next five villas are all in the Sitges and Garraf area. I’ve covered that corner in detail in my guide to wedding venues near Sitges, so here’s the short version.
3. Casa Nova Estate, Sitges area

Seaside romance
Casa Nova Estate sits in the hills near Sitges with the Mediterranean close by. It mixes rustic charm with a coastal feel, and the estate is surrounded by vineyards, gardens and forest. It’s also one of the venues that made forest ceremonies popular around Barcelona.
38 km from Barcelona (about 40 minutes from El Prat Airport)
Price from around €2,850 per night (3 nights minimum)
On-site accommodation for 18 guests + 20 beds in glamping

Location: View on Google Maps
Best for: A forest ceremony with the sea not far away.
4. Villa Catalina, Sitges hills

Mediterranean style on a big scale
Villa Catalina is a grand villa with striking architecture and manicured gardens. You can say “I do” in the courtyard or out in the greenery, and it has room for a big guest list while still feeling private.

5. Masia Victoria, Sant Pere de Ribes

Vintage charm
Masia Victoria is a historic masia with classic architecture and landscaped gardens. It’s on the smaller side, which is exactly why couples love it: it feels like a family home from another era.

North and inland: the Maresme, the Vallès and beyond
8. Bell Recó, Argentona

A 1950s mansion with gardens that do half the work
Bell Recó is about 35 minutes from Barcelona, in the green hills behind the Maresme coast. The house was built in 1952, with marble floors and big classic rooms, and it’s surrounded by multi-level gardens with fountains and old trees. There are several ceremony spots, including an indoor one, so rain isn’t a disaster. You’re also free to bring your own caterer, florist and band.
I photographed Hannah & Sandeep’s wedding at Bell Recó: 160 guests, planned by The Experialist, and one of the most fun days I’ve had behind the camera. The stairs, the pool and the garden terraces give you a lot of variety for portraits without walking far. [MIKS: one detail you remember from that day, e.g. the best spot for golden hour]
About 35 minutes from Barcelona, 1 hour from El Prat Airport
Price: venue hire roughly €8,000–€15,000+ (on request, confirm with the venue)
Bridal suites for getting ready; guests stay in nearby towns or Barcelona

9. This Must Be The Place, Moià

Rustic glamour and big sunsets
This Must Be The Place is a restored villa (Mas Casamitjana) near Moià, about an hour from Barcelona. The drive up is part of the fun, along country roads with views that tell guests something good is coming. The venue has more than three ceremony spots and as many dinner options, plus a proper rain plan. The owners are originally from London and speak English, Catalan and Spanish, which makes planning from abroad much easier.
I photographed Eva & James’s wedding here, 50 guests, planned by The Gathering. The sunsets are the real star. [MIKS: your favorite moment or light from that wedding]
About 60 minutes from Barcelona, 70 minutes from El Prat Airport

Best for: Relaxed countryside weddings with an English-speaking venue team.
10. Castell de Sant Marçal, Cerdanyola del Vallès
A real castle 20 minutes from the city
If you want a castle but don’t want your guests on a long bus ride, this is the one. Castell de Sant Marçal dates back to the 11th century and was restyled in the 1890s by architect Gaietà Buïgas, the same man behind Barcelona’s Columbus monument. It’s rented for one event at a time, with gardens, ponds and a large pavilion for seated dinners.
About 20 minutes from Barcelona, 30 minutes from El Prat Airport
Price: on request
No on-site accommodation; guests stay in Barcelona
Wedding guests: up to around 500 seated
Location: View on Google Maps

11. Castell de Ben Viure, Castellbisbal
A blank canvas close to the city
A pink-and-white colonial mansion from 1928 with a huge garden, about 25 minutes from Barcelona. It’s rented empty, so you bring the caterer, furniture and styling. That’s more work, but it means your wedding won’t look like anyone else’s.
About 25 minutes from Barcelona
Price: on request (venue only; catering and rentals on top)
No on-site accommodation
Wedding guests: 200+
Location: View on Google Maps
Best for: Couples with a planner and a clear vision who want to build the day from scratch.

Modernista architecture in the hills

About 45 minutes from Barcelona
Price: on request
No on-site accommodation
Wedding guests: up to 250
Location: View on Google Maps
Best for: Couples who love architecture and want something that feels Barcelona without being in the city.
13. Masia Egara, Terrassa
Formal gardens and a classic look
A Modernista masia in Terrassa, surrounded by farmland and forest, with one of the best-kept private gardens in Catalonia. It photographs more like a small palace than a farmhouse, and it’s set up for large weddings.

Price: roughly €130–€250 per person with catering (confirm with the venue)
No on-site accommodation
Wedding guests: large weddings
Location: View on Google Maps

14. La Centenaria 1779, Gavà
The winter-proof option
An 18th-century estate in Gavà, about 30 minutes from the city and very close to the airport. The interiors are warm and characterful, so it’s one of the few venues near Barcelona that works just as well in December as in June.

Price: roughly €130–€220 per person (confirm with the venue)
No on-site accommodation
Wedding guests: mid-size weddings
Location: View on Google Maps

15. Mas Solers, Sant Pere de Ribes
Palace-scale weddings
A grand 19th-century palace five minutes from Sitges, now run by Grup Peralada. Big salons, gardens, fountains and an open-air amphitheater for the ceremony. It’s built for scale, so it shines with several hundred guests and can feel too big for a small group.
About 40 minutes from Barcelona, 30 minutes from El Prat Airport
Price: roughly €180–€350 per person with in-house catering
No on-site accommodation; guests stay in Sitges
Wedding guests: up to around 950 seated
Location: View on Google Maps
Best for: Very large weddings that still want real elegance.
16. Hotel Font de la Canya, Penedès
Vineyard weekend with rooms on site
A boutique hotel surrounded by vineyards in the Penedès wine region, about 45 minutes southwest of Barcelona. Palm trees, a pool and suites for getting ready, which solves the accommodation question most masias leave open. Add a cava tasting for your guests and you have a whole weekend.
About 45 minutes from Barcelona
Price: on request
On-site accommodation: boutique hotel rooms
Wedding guests: small to mid-size weddings
Location: View on Google Maps
Best for: A wine-country weekend with everyone sleeping at the venue.
17. Castell de Tamarit, Tarragona coast
A castle on the beach
An 11th-century castle standing right on the sand, about an hour south of Barcelona. Ceremony inside medieval walls, cocktails with your feet in the sand, and the sea behind everything. It’s the only venue I know in Catalonia that is both castle and beach.
About 1 hour from Barcelona
Price: on request
No on-site accommodation; guests stay in Tarragona or Sitges
Wedding guests: large weddings
Location: View on Google Maps
Best for: Big, dramatic celebrations by the sea.

Worth the longer drive (1–2 hours)
18. Castell d’Enfesta, central Catalonia

A castle in the sky
Castell d’Enfesta sits on top of a hill with wide views over the Catalan landscape. Stone towers, green surroundings and a real fairytale look. If you’ve always pictured a castle wedding, this is a lovely choice for a smaller group.

On-site accommodation: none
Wedding guests: up to 100
E-mail: [email protected]
Location: View on Google Maps
Best for: Smaller castle weddings with big views.
19. Mas Terrats, near Girona

Rustic calm in the Catalan countryside
Mas Terrats is surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards, and it’s peaceful in the best way. The rustic buildings and wide views make it easy for guests to switch off. I photographed Ali & Simon’s wedding at Mas Terrats, and it’s closer to Girona Airport than to Barcelona, so check which airport works best for your guests. More about this area in my Costa Brava wedding venues guide.
130 km from Barcelona (about 1.5 hours from El Prat Airport, about 1 hour from Girona Airport)
Price: on request (may vary)
On-site accommodation: 18 people

wedding venues near barcelona
What I look for when I arrive at a venue
I’m not only looking at how a place photographs. I’m thinking about how the whole day will move through it. First I check how the planner has set up the day: where the morning prep is, and how far it is from the ceremony. Then the ceremony setup itself, and where the sun will be at that time. Where is the aperitivo? How narrow or wide is each space, and which lens will I need there? And outside, where can the drone fly, and which trees could block it? [MIKS: anything specific you check first at a masia near Barcelona]
Plan around the light. Around Barcelona the sun sets around 9:20 pm in June and closer to 7 pm by October. The best light is the last hour before sunset, so plan the ceremony and couple photos before it, and keep the evening for the party.
Sort out transport. Many venues have no rooms, so book coaches from Barcelona or Sitges so nobody drives after the party.
Budget realistically. Villa weekends start around €3,000 per night, catered venues around €130–€350 per person, and a full destination wedding near Barcelona usually lands between €25,000 and €100,000+.

wedding venues near barcelona
Which area near Barcelona is right for you?
South (Garraf, Sitges, Penedès): villas with rooms, the sea close by, vineyards inland, and Sitges for guests who want a fun town for the weekend. See my wedding venues near Sitges guide.
North and inland (Maresme, Vallès, Moià): big gardens, castles and Modernista houses, 20–60 minutes from the city. Most don’t have rooms, so plan hotels and transport.
Costa Brava: if you’re happy with 1.5–2 hours, you get coves, medieval villages and some of the most beautiful estates in Spain. Start with my Costa Brava wedding venues guide.
How to choose a wedding venue near Barcelona
Twenty venues is a lot. Here’s how I’d narrow it down, plus the comparisons couples ask me about most.
Choose by what matters most
Drive from the airport: El Prat is about 15 minutes from La Centenaria, 25–40 minutes from the Sitges villas and about an hour from the Maresme and inland venues. For Mas Terrats and Mas Torroella, Girona airport is often easier.
Guest count: under 80, Masia Victoria or Xalet del Nin. For 200–250, Villa Catalina, Casa Nova Estate, Masia Cabellut or La Baronia. For 400+, Castell de Sant Marçal, Bell Recó or Mas Solers.
Rooms on site: the villas and masias (Cabellut, Xalet del Nin, the Sitges villas, Mas Santo, Font de la Canya, Mas Terrats, Mas Torroella) sleep your closest people. Castles and big event venues usually don’t.
Rough price per guest: about €130–€350 at the catered venues; villa weekends work out similar once catering is added (see the price guide below).
Castle or masia?
A castle like Castell de Sant Marçal or Castell de Tamarit gives you the drama and room for a big guest list, but usually no rooms, so plan hotels and coaches. A masia like Masia Cabellut or Mas Santo is smaller and more relaxed, and your family can stay the whole weekend. Big and dramatic: castle. A weekend with your people: masia.
Sitges seafront or a Penedès vineyard?
Near Sitges, venues like Xalet del Nin or Casa Nova Estate give you the sea close by and a fun town for guests. In the Penedès, Font de la Canya or Masia Cabellut give you vineyards, quiet and cava tastings. If your guests want beach and nightlife, Sitges. If they want wine and slow mornings, the Penedès.
Bell Recó or La Baronia?
Both are about 35–45 minutes north of the city and take large weddings. Bell Recó has big multi-level gardens and lets you bring your own vendors. La Baronia is a Modernista house with stone galleries and its own kitchen, with views toward the Barcelona skyline. Garden party with total freedom: Bell Recó. Architecture lovers: La Baronia.
FAQ
How far are these wedding venues from Barcelona?
The first 17 on this list are between about 20 minutes and an hour from central Barcelona. The last three take 1 hour 15 minutes to about 2 hours, and Mas Terrats is actually closer to Girona Airport.
Which wedding venues near Barcelona have accommodation?
Masia Cabellut, Xalet del Nin, Casa Nova Estate, Villa Catalina, Masia Victoria, Almiral de la Font, Mas Santo, This Must Be The Place, Font de la Canya, Mas Terrats and Mas Torroella all have rooms on site. Castles and big event venues usually don’t.
How much does a wedding near Barcelona cost?
Roughly €25,000 to €100,000+ for a full destination wedding. Villa rentals start around €2,850–€3,300 per night with a 3-night minimum, and catered venues run about €130–€350 per person. Always confirm current prices with the venue.
Is it cheaper to get married in Spain or Italy?
Often a little cheaper in Spain, especially for catering and mid-range venues. At the luxury end they’re quite similar, so guest travel and the style you want usually matter more.
Can we legally get married in Barcelona?
A legal civil wedding in Spain is complicated for non-residents, so most couples from abroad do the legal part at home and have a symbolic ceremony at the venue.
Planning a wedding near Barcelona?
Getting married in Catalonia gives you history, landscapes, great food and a relaxed, romantic atmosphere all in one trip. The Mediterranean weather is usually on your side for outdoor ceremonies, and the region has a setting for almost every style, from seaside villas to castles and quiet countryside. And don’t forget that a wedding in Spain is often a bit cheaper than in Italy!
I’d love to hear what you’re planning. I shoot digital and 35mm film, and I’m happy to cover the welcome dinner and the day after too. Tell me about your plans here, and let’s see if we’re a good fit. You can also browse my real weddings or read what couples say in kind words. See you!

| Catered estate | Masia Egara, La Centenaria 1779 | €130–€250 |
