Why I love Sitges for destination weddings

For me, Sitges is about more than the wedding day. The architecture in the old town is beautiful, the food is great, the beaches are right there, and there’s real nightlife when the party wants to keep going.

If your guests fly in for a few days, the wedding turns into a little trip for them. They get to see more than just Barcelona, and the accommodation around Sitges is properly luxurious. It’s also one of the most welcoming towns in Spain for everyone, which is why so many LGBTQ+ couples choose it too.

1. Masia Victoria (Sant Pere de Ribes). A 15th-century manor about 5 minutes from the sea, with its own chapel, an infinity pool, two garden terraces and an old bodega. 14 en-suite bedrooms sleep 28, and it takes up to about 70 guests. Weekend hire starts from roughly £8,300 (Sitges Luxury Rentals).

2. Masia Nur (Sitges hills). Nine cottages with 22 bedrooms, sleeping around 44, set in a 5,000 m² garden with a tropical-style pool. Events up to about 50 guests, 10 minutes from the beaches. Weekly hire from around €24,500.

3. Villa Catalina. 400 acres of private grounds, 15 bedrooms on site, a rustic courtyard, pool, jacuzzi and bodega. It works for both small and big groups. Expect roughly €5,000–€10,000+ depending on dates.

4. Estate villa in Garraf Natural Park. A 400 m² villa on 600 acres of land for up to 250 guests (about 100 indoors, 150 outdoors), with 9 rooms sleeping 18+. Day hire from around €4,700.

5. Catalan masia with sea views. Featured by Brides.com and Confetti Magazine, with 13 bedrooms sleeping 28, room for up to 120 guests, an infinity pool, a Moroccan-style lounge and no music curfew (Spain4Weddings).

6. ME Sitges Terramar. A 5-star hotel right on the beach, known for its food and a beach club run by the Beso group. Good if you want everything, guests included, in one place.

7. MIM Sitges. A modern 4-star hotel with a LEED Platinum sustainable design, a solid pick for couples who care about a greener wedding.

8. Seafront 4-star hotel in Sitges. 65 rooms with terraces and sea views, with wedding packages that include guest accommodation (Spain4Weddings).

9. Hotel Dolce Sitges. A large 5-star resort in the hills just above town, practical for bigger guest lists that need plenty of rooms and indoor backup space.

Do our guests need to stay in Sitges?

No. Many guests stay in Barcelona and travel out for the day. Masias with bedrooms are great if you want everyone together for the whole weekend.

Is Sitges good for LGBTQ+ weddings?

Yes. Sitges is one of the best-known LGBTQ+-friendly towns in Southern Europe, and same-sex marriage has been legal in Spain since 2005.
